Will I find in Williford

Saturday was a beautiful day to go on a caching expedition. Temp in the mid 70's, slightly overcast, with a light breeze. Thought we would try the "Will I find in Williford" series of caches. This set was placed by family of ancestors who were some of the original Williford residents. You get to see some great scenery as well as old "family farms" and old cobblestone house. We were able to find all the caches on the list. One we had to leave, go and recollect our cacheing instincts (refill on Gatorade) and go back and look again, but it was there. Was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Burns Park Cache Bash 2007

Last night was the first planning meeting for the first ever Burns Park Cache Bash. It was good to get to meet a few people instead of just doing everything by e-mail and forums. It was also great to see the amount of interest there is in geocaching, not only in Arkansas, but throughout the country.
Afterwards, Tigger and myself scooted on over to the covered bridge to find the Bayou Blues cache and find out for ourselves why everyone was worried about loosing their glasses in the water. Well.....we know now....you'll have to find out for yourself :-).
Also I checked with the Burns Park Campground today and the do allow tent camping, each site has H2O, electricity and a shower house / restrooms. The cost is $14.00 a night. Just let them know you're coming down for the Bash and they'll try to arrange all together. I'll be there sometime Friday afternoon and am staying Fri & Sat nights. The number for reservations is 501-771-0702.
Hope everyone is having a good week,
Scooter

Beautiful Day and I'm stuck at work

Well, here it is a great Saturday for caching and I'm stuck at work. Had a brief period of heavy fog this morning and we couldn't fly anywhere, but no caches close by to go discover. That really sucked, especially knowing there is a new one just a couple miles from house that got posted last night that has yet to be FTF'd. Maybe my luck will hold and it'll still be a virgin when I get home Monday morning. Though I only have one FTF under my belt so far, it did feel good to be the first one to start a log that will be long and prosperous.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, and stay safe.

Nothing on TV....might as well cache

Well, after a hearty supper, Tigger and myself were surfing through the TV stations and even with DISH...I had over 200 channels of NOTHING to watch, so what else to do?? Cache of course. Even though the weather was a little cooler that what I like to frolic in, and it was closing in on dark, we bundled up, grabbed the Garmin and headed out the door for two locals that I had yet to find. Isn't it amazing that the cache's within 5 miles of your house are the ones you put off until "later". So off through town we went. Both were good caches, City Park Cache would have been better with the sun still up, but hey, that always gives us a reason to go back later. Anyway, going to be warmer this week so maybe I'll get to "grab" a few more, and with any luck, even get to fish a little on the way.

The Start of a Blog

OK.......this is my first time "blogging", but I wanted someplace to share my caching adventures and this seemed like the perfect spot. I have only recently started this great hobby, but have already found it highly addictive. At least until that last cold front came through and temporarily squashed my spring fever. At least after today, I feel it coming back on strong though. Stay tuned, as the weather warms I will be back in the woods and waters caching and photographing more of our beautiful Ozarks.
